Check, check, check... Now were was I...

So in my previous post I listed all of the things I have to get done for the holidays, and I have manage to check a few of them off!
Yeah me!
I finished decorating the house inside and out, completed sewing a few presents,  and got some baking in; and lucky me I got to enjoy it all while I watch the snow fall( I'm one of those weird islanders that likes the snow)
So everyone keep up the good work and remember only make stuff for people who you actually like or love and you know that they will apreacheat it, and all the work you put in to it. Otherwise what's the point?
It's quicker and easier to buy those ungrateful little monsters a gift as not everyone deserves a hand made quilt, but hey I just call it like I sees it.
Any-hoo keep on trucking and always have fun or your doing something wrong

Ahhh the Madness...

Well Black Friday is done... and it was mayhem for me.. as a person working in a small retail environment it was tuff, i could not imaging what it was like in those big box stores or electronic shops...ughhh.. just thinking about it gives me the willys. Also i have noticed as the day went on that Christmas music is now on regular radio stations and as the day progress the gaps between the Christmas songs got shorter and shorter..

I guess its official Christmas is coming!!!! and i am no were near ready.... i have shopping, wrapping , sewing, quilting, knitting, baking, cooking, decorating, and so much more. So i am wondering can were postpone Christmas this year, say to like next Easter, yah Easter then maybe i get this list done....sigh

You say what!!!

Happy Halloween!!!!

So I found myself with a customer the other day at my family’s quilt store who wanted to buy one of our larger quilts we have on display in the store, and when I kindly pointed out they were not for sale as it is a current sample, she asked if we could whip her up a new one today.

I said we could make one and explained the cost of the fabric and labour as well as the time involved she thought I was joking and started laughing, but when she realise I was serious said she won’t pay over $100 bucks for the stupid old things as it was for her Mom not her…

Needless to say a lot of different colourful and choice words as well as some entertaining scenarios started running though my head on how to get rid of this  "wonderful" woman , so I politely stated that yes that it would be that expensive, as I made sure to point her in the direction of the nearest Wal-Mart that wouldn’t tax her  “budget” while guilding her to the door… And enter happy dance here...
But I can’t be the only one who feels that way so I took it to the Internet were I stumble arose one of the blogs I follow “the bitchysticher” (love this lady!!!) who turned me on to “hunters design studio” and the effort she is putting on out there to educated the uneducated masses in this world (bless her heart) so check out there blogs, you won’t be disappointed.
